JOB SUMMARY

The Director of Marketing provides strategic leadership for Briercrest’s marketing and communications efforts, ensuring that marketing initiatives effectively support student enrolment growth, institutional advancement, and the mission and strategic priorities of Briercrest.
This position leads the Marketing Department, develops and executes integrated marketing strategies, and works collaboratively within the institution to strengthen awareness, engagement, trust, and support for the enrolment and advancement goals of Briercrest Christian Academy, College, and Seminary.

SCHEDULE AND HOURS

·       Monday to Friday

·       40 hours per week

·       Occasional evening and weekend work required for events/travel

 

QUALIFICATIONS

Agreement to live within the Briercrest Institutional Covenant and align with the mission, vision, and values of Briercrest Christian Academy, College, and Seminary

A passionate supporter of Christian education and the community experience offered by Briercrest

Bachelor’s degree – preferably in Marketing, Communications, Business, Public Relations, English, or a related field

Leadership experience in marketing, communications, enrolment marketing, or a related field preferred

Experience in higher education, Christian education, or the non-profit sector preferred

Demonstrated experience leading and developing high-performing teams
A humble, teachable leader who actively seeks feedback, values diverse perspectives, and demonstrates a commitment to continuous learning and professional growth

Demonstrated ability to balance strategic leadership with hands-on execution in a dynamic and collaborative environment
Strong understanding of digital marketing, content strategy, brand management, and analytics

Working knowledge of creative disciplines such as graphic design, video production, photography, and content development, with the ability to guide strategy and evaluate quality

Strong written and verbal communication skills

Ability to collaborate effectively across multiple departments and stakeholders

Strong organizational, project management, and leadership skills

Supporting institutional strategic priorities

Marketing initiatives effectively support institutional enrolment objectives

o   Developing and executing marketing strategies that increase awareness, inquiries, applications, campus visits, and enrolment

o   Collaborating closely with Recruitment leadership to identify opportunities to strengthen lead generation, nurture strategies, and applicant conversion

o   Using data and analytics to evaluate marketing effectiveness, lead generation, applicant engagement, and enrolment outcomes to inform strategic decisions

o   Support the achievement of annual enrolment goals through targeting marketing initiatives

Lead and develop a high-performing Marketing Department team

o   Providing leadership, coaching, accountability, and professional development to department staff

o   Establishing clear priorities, goals, and expectations for team members

o   Fostering collaboration, innovation, and continuous improvement within the department

o   Hiring, onboarding, and developing staff as required

o   Leading regular team meetings and individual check-ins

Strengthening collaboration and alignment between Marketing and institutional partners

o   Facilitating communication and planning processes that improve organizational alignment

o   Helping departments identify and achieve communication and marketing objectives

o   Ensuring marketing resources are allocated in support of institutional priorities.

Ensure effective execution of marketing projects, communications, and creative initiatives

o   Providing oversight for creative asset development, website strategy, digital marketing, and content creation

o   Leading selected strategic marketing initiatives and campaigns directly

o   Collaborating with institutional leaders to identify and advance priority marketing projects

o   Managing relationships with external vendors, agencies, and contractors

o   Supporting the successful execution of major institutional campaigns and initiatives

o   Balancing strategic leadership with direct involvement in priority marketing initiatives when required

Steward and strengthen the Briercrest brand across all schools and ministries

o   Providing oversight of brand standards, messaging, and policy

o   Leading the ongoing development of marketing strategies, storytelling, and audience engagement

o   Ensuring consistency and quality across marketing and communication channels

o   Monitoring marketplace trends and recommending strategic opportunities

 

TEAM RELATIONSHIPS

Provides direct supervision to members of the Marketing Department
Reports directly to the Chief of Staff
Works closely with Recruitment leadership to support enrolment objectives
Collaborates regularly with leaders across Briercrest Christian Academy, College, and Seminary
Maintains key relationships with external contractors, agencies, vendors, and marketing partners
