ASSOCIATE DIRECTOR/RESEARCH ANALYST

The Association for Biblical Higher Education Commission on Accreditation invites nominations and applications for the role of Associate Director/Research Analyst to begin duties on or around June 1, 2026.

Position Summary

The ABHE Commission on Accreditation Associate Director/Research Analyst provides support to internal and external ABHE stakeholders and guidance and consultation to institutions concerning ABHE accreditation processes. This individual assists with development and implementation of accreditation standards and policies as well as consultation, evaluation, and decision-making processes related to applicant, candidate, and accredited institutions. This individual ensures that the Commission on Accreditation has accurate and complete data for decision-making.

As the Associate Director serving as Substantive Change Officer, this individual reviews and acts upon selected substantive change proposals and teach-out plans and agreements and responds to institutions that have questions about substantive changes and/or teach-out plans or agreements.

As Research Analyst, this individual manages the annual report platform and processes on behalf of the Association and analyzes data and generates reports in support of Association data needs and Commission decision-making and reporting requirements.

Required Qualifications

  • Minimum 5 years of biblical higher education administration or faculty experience (10 years preferred), including significant institutional effectiveness/accreditation leadership
  • Teaching and/or administrative experience at both undergraduate and graduate levels preferred
  • Record of effective supervisory experience
  • Earned doctoral degree or equivalent in higher education, biblical/theological studies, or other relevant discipline
  • Earned degree from Biblical higher education institution preferred
  • Knowledge of ABHE accreditation standards and processes
  • Experience in institutional research, research methodology, and data analysis and reporting

Supervisory Relationship

The Associate Director reports to the Executive Director, ABHE Commission on Accreditation.

Interested candidates should submit a cover letter and a résumé or curriculum vitae using the application form. Review of submissions will begin immediately. Candidates are encouraged to submit materials prior to February 28, 2026, but review of applicants will continue until the position is filled.

Applicants advancing to the candidate stage will be asked to complete a detailed candidate questionnaire including a statement of Christian faith, a statement on his or her philosophy of accreditation in biblical higher education, and professional references. (References will only be contacted with consent from applicants.) Following reference checks, degree verification, and completed background checks, select candidates will advance to the interview stage in March.

About the ABHE Commission on Accreditation

The ABHE Commission on Accreditation is recognized by the United States Department of Education (USDE) as a national specialized institutional accrediting agency. The agency’s official scope of USDE recognition (primarily for the purpose of participation in U.S. Title IV financial aid programs) is as follows: The accreditation and pre‐accreditation (“Candidate Status”) of institutions of biblical higher education offering undergraduate certificates, associate degrees, baccalaureate degrees, graduate certificates, and master’s degrees, including the accreditation of educational programs offered via distance education and direct assessment.

The ABHE Commission on Accreditation is also recognized as a national, faith-related accrediting agency by the Council for Higher Education Accreditation (CHEA). The agency’s official scope of CHEA recognition is as follows: Institutions and programs in the United States, Canada, and related territories that offer certificates, diplomas, associate, baccalaureate, or graduate degrees aimed at preparing students for Christian ministries through Biblical, church-vocational, and general studies.
