Position Overview:

POSITION SUMMARY:

  • The Vice President will be responsible for all fundraising activities and will serve on the President's Cabinet.
  • Primary responsibilities include implementing and managing a new major gifts program, augmenting the existing planned giving program, directing the field staff to support these programs and planning and directing the implementation of all other development progr ams and initiatives in conjunction with other staff.
  • The vice president is responsible for the supervision of the alumni affairs office and church relations office and is also responsible for the supervision of the student recruitment function of Toccoa Falls College.
Primary Responsibilities:

TASKS:

  • Implement new major gifts program including prospect identification, strategy development, relationship building, solicitation, management and tracking;
  • Augment and refine existing planned giving program;
  • Hire, train and manage development representatives;
  • Manage the Advancement and Recruitment budget;
  • Continuous upgrading of knowledge and skills via education and training;
  • Prepare reports for President, Cabinet, Board of Trustees and Foundation Board;
  • Prepare and implement annual fundraising plan;
  • Provide leadership for periodic special fundraising initiatives and/or campaigns;
  • Provide leadership in student recruitment and advertising for the college
Qualifications:

SKILLS AND ATTRIBUTES:

  • Judgment & Decision Making - considering the relative costs and benefits of actions;
  • Financial Resources Management - Determining how to effectively spend money, and accounting for these expenditures;
  • Critical Thinking - Using logic and reasoning to identify strengths and weaknesses of alternative solutions, conclusions or approaches to problems;
  • Communication - outstanding verbal and written communication. Adept at public speaking;
  • Spiritually mature Christian; Experienced in all phases of donor development;
  • Team building and human resource management;
  • Proficiency in computer software programs: Word, Excel, Powerpoint, Cresendo.

EXPERIENCE & EDUCATION:

  • Bachelor's degree required, fundraising certification a plus;
  • Minimum of five year's experience in resource development and student recruitment

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

  • Must be able to do a lot of traveling including driving and flying, must be able to do public speaking.
