Position Overview:

Philadelphia Biblical University is seeking candidates for the position of Senior Vice President and Provost. Located in Langhorne, Bucks County, Pennsylvania, PBU exists to educate students to serve Christ in the church, society, and the world as biblically minded, well-educated and professionally competent men and women of character. Students earn bachelor’s degrees in various areas including Bible, Education, Social Work, Music, and Business Administration, and graduate degrees in Divinity, Education, Organizational Leadership, and Counseling.

 

Primary Responsibilities:
  • The Provost serves as Chief Academic Officer and reports directly to the President of the University.
  • The Provost oversees all academic programs, curriculum, budgets, and academic personnel including the deans of the various schools, dean of student life, dean of educational resources, registrar, and directors of athletics and extension campuses and programs.
  • As a member of the President’s Cabinet, the Provost serves on the President’s executive team comprised of the Senior Vice Presidents for Advancement, Finance and Administration, and Marketing and Enrollment Management.
  • The Provost is the primary liaison to the Academic Affairs Committee of the Board of Trustees and serves as a public representative of the University to various accrediting organizations and constituency groups.
Qualifications:
  • An earned doctorate
  • A minimum of ten years of administrative and educational experience with at least five years of experience in a management position responsible for significant oversight of multiple departments.
  • The individual must possess an exemplary Christian character be in agreement with the University's mission, vision, statement of faith, and standards of community life.
  • He or she must possess extensive biblical and theological knowledge in order to integrate a Christian worldview into the field of higher education.
