| Position Overview: |
POSITION SUMMARY:
- The Director of Retention Services serves a key role to enhance Toccoa Falls College in achieving the mission of developing Christian servant leaders who will impact their world with the love and message of Jesus Christ.
- She/he will be responsible for giving vision, leadership, direction, assessment, evaluation and coordination of services and programs for the student development departm ent.
- She/he will be responsible for a comprehensive retention program (1) consistent with the philosophy of the Division of Student Development, (2) promote the learning outcomes articulated in the strategic initiatives of the Division, (3) integrate with academic and co-curricular programs, (4) and aligning with biblical principles for servant leadership.

| Primary Responsibilities: |
TASKS:
- Identify best practices and implement strategies for student retention within Division of Student Development;
- Use current TFC resources to extract, maintain and report good data for analysis of retention strategies;
- Serve as liaison to Office of Admissions for the Division of Student Development;
- Advocate for retention efforts campus wide and create a retention "ethos" on campus;
- Formulate, manage and implement TFC 100 with cooperation from academic affairs and TFC 100 ad-hoc committee;
- Give vision, directio n, and implement the freshman and sophomore year experiences;
- Create multiple opportunities for Administration, Faculty and Staff to hear and learn about retention efforts on the TFC campus;
- Do regular training in retention efforts for all campus employees;
- Coordinate and collaborate with Academic Success Center to identify "at risk" students.

- Critical Thinking - Using logic and reasoning to identify strengths and weaknesses of alternative solutions, conclusions or approaches to problems;
- Communication - proven verbal and written communication;
- Spiritually mature Christian in agreement with the college statement of faith and committed to the vision, mission and values of Toccoa Falls College;
- Consider themselves a change agent and have knowledge of the change process in organizations;
- Team building and human resource management;
- Proficiency in computer software programs.
EXPERIENCE & EDUCATION:
- Master's degree in Education or related field required.
- Candidate must have proven knowledge of student development theories.
- The candidate must have a commitment to understanding diversity issues in retention.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
- Must be able to climb steps, lift files and boxes weighing up to 25 pounds, and travel by car or van with music groups
