Leadership Development for Biblical Higher Education
ABHE provides a comprehensive professional training program entitled
Leadership Development for Biblical Higher Education. This program is designed to provide the skills, perspectives, and information that ABHE institutional leaders need to be effective. This initiative focuses on the uniqueness of leadership in biblical higher education, the vocations of administrators and faculty members, and the corporate practices that constitute the work of educational leaders.
The Leadership Development for Biblical Higher Education program targets key administrators, racial/ethnic administrators and faculty, women, and board members through the use of training conferences.
Administrative Leadership (Presidents, Chief Academic Administrators, Chief Student Development Administrators): These conferences will focus on administrative responsibilities and expectations, skill development and problem solving. The instruction and mentoring will be provided by veteran administrators from member institutions.
Racial/Ethnic Leadership: The conference will give priority to mentoring and nurturing younger racial/ethnic leaders through workshops that focus on personal and professional development.
Female Leadership: The training will provide a framework for building skills, developing perspective, and establishing a venue for women to form networks with other female leaders in biblical education.
Board Leadership: The opportunity will be created for board members from member institutions to come together for the purpose of instruction, idea sharing, and relationship development. The key focus will be on principles of effective governance.
Affiliate Institution Leadership: The training will be designed to assist the presidents and chief academic officers at affiliate institutions as they provide leadership and direction for their respective schools and colleges.
