Position Overview
Full-time faculty to teach 24 semester hours annually in Bible or languages, particularly in the areas of New Testament, Koine Greek, Hermeneutics, and individual New Testament book exegetical courses, primarily in the undergraduate program, but also in graduate programs. Conduct academic advising and mentoring for assigned undergraduate students. Collaborate with other faculty members in academic, personal, and professional formation. Perform other faculty duties (e.g. committee assignments, professional improvement) as described in the Educational Philosophy and Responsibilities Guide.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Ability to teach Biblical Hebrew and cognate languages
  • Ability to teach New Testament language and exegesis (i.e., Koine Greek) with effectiveness.

Qualifications

  • Ph.D. degree (or equivalent) with a New Testament emphasis from an accredited institution
  • Exemplary Christian character
  • Strong evidence of ability to relate to and communicate effectively with students (with particular orientation for undergraduate students)
  • Commitment to guide and mentor students inside and outside the classroom
  • Evidence of effective Bible teaching
  • Active local church ministry
  • Desired cross-cultural ministry experience and/or sensitivity, pastoral experience, and teaching experience at the post-secondary level
