Position Overview

The Senior Vice President and Provost works closely with the President, exercising senior leadership in achieving CIU's purpose “educating students from a biblical worldview to impact the nations with the message of Christ.” This is accomplished by overseeing the planning, organization, supervision, and evaluation of all higher educational entities and activities to ensure educational effectiveness. The Provost serves as a member of CIU’s executive teams.

Primary Responsibilities
The position focuses on the selection and mentoring of personnel; planning for educational programs, services and facilities; development of programs, policy and procedures in support of the educational enterprise; fostering institutional effectiveness through assessment and planning; and ensuring compliance with accreditation standards and governmental regulations.

Qualifications

• An earned doctorate from an accredited institution in an appropriate theological education content field or in higher education administration is required.
• Some graduate study in higher education administration and in biblical/theological education is needed.
• Substantial work experience in theological education or a relevant ministry field is required.
