| Position Overview: |
The Board of Directors invites nominations, applications, and expressions of interest for the position of President of Bethany College. Founded in 1927, and situated in Hepburn, Saskatchewan, Bethany offers a range of undergraduate Bible College programs. Bethany College’s mission is to nurture disciples and train leaders to serve. The President, who serves as CEO, will have a proven record of respected leadership. Committed to excellence in discipleship and transformative education, he or she will understand and embrace the mission of Bethany College. The President will possess the ability to represent Bethany effectively on both a provincial and national level to our alumni, donor and church constituencies.

| Primary Responsibilities: |
General Duties:
- Oversee the ministry of the College.
- Act as the chief executive officer of the college.
- Chair the Leadership Team.
- Be the chief proponent for the vision of the College, both internally and externally.
- Seek to foster a collegial, collaborative spirit on campus.
- Represent the mission of the College in the wider constituency.
- Be the official channel of communication between the Board and the College.
- Review and develop the policy and procedures of the College.
- Facilitate the development of vision and strategic planning for the ministry of the College.
- Work in partnership with conferences and agencies advancing common goals.
- Facilitate Board meetings in conjunction with the Board Chairman.
- Other duties as requested by the Board of Directors.
Specific Duties:
- Give leadership to the creation of vision and strategic plan for the school.
- In conjunction with the Leadership Team oversee all hiring and releasing of staff.
- Coordinate with the Leadership Team the evaluation of personnel.
- Structure and finalize the positions and responsibilities of all staff in discussion with Leadership Team.
- Provide and/or facilitate care for all staff.
- Keep the Board informed regularly on the proceedings of the College.
- Lead policy development and production of key College documents.
- Assist the Director of Finance in the formulation of the budget.
- Attend Faculty and Staff meetings as necessary.
- Network and partner with other organizations (ABHE, CHEC, Provincial Conferences, Colleges, etc.)
- Devote a pre-determined proportion of time to public relations and stewardship/fundraising development with the college constituency i.e. donors, churches, correspondence through phone, email, and letters, personal visits and public meetings.
- Be involved in mentoring relationships with one to three students.
- Possible teaching component.
- Be aware of current research and developments within Higher Education within North America.

Skills required:
- Leadership skills for effective personal and committee work.
- Pastoral skills for constituency, staff and student care.
- Effective communication skills
- Effective teaching and coaching abilities.
- Excellent and proven interpersonal skills in relationship building, communicating, negotiation, and leadership
- Be able to communicate effectively with the various stakeholders of Bethany College.
Time required: The above is a full-time position.
Training required and provided:
- Master’s Degree (preference to Doctorate)
- Training and/or background in educational management.
- Funds will be made available for ongoing personal and professional development.
Job location: On campus with approximately quarter-time travel |
