We invite ABHE members once again to participate in the Biblical Higher Education Retention Benchmark Project for 2008-09. Co-sponsored by Noel-Levitz and Christian Consulting this special retention benchmarking project is providing ABHE members with a cost-effective mechanism for impacting enrollment, the quality of student life and learning, and the creation of ABHE-specific satisfaction benchmarks. Now is the time to sign up for the 2008-09 academic year.

Many of your colleagues have participated in the project since it first began in 2006. Over 21,000 students have been surveyed as part of this project, including students at the following institutions:

In order to offer the strongest ABHE comparison data, we would like to have more members administer the Student Satisfaction Inventory on campus during the 2008-2009 academic year. If you have surveyed as part of this project previously, you will want to continue with a systematic assessment on an annual or every other year basis.

You may be wondering what it will cost. The discounted fees for ABHE members are $1.70 per survey, plus a $135 set up fee and a $70 ABHE comparison report fee, and a 5% handling fee. For 200 students, that’s less that $575 for powerful data to identify your institutions’ strengths and challenges based on your students’ perceptions and to see how satisfied your students are compared with students at other ABHE member schools. You have the option to administer the survey by paper in the classroom or through the Web with online invitations.

By participating in this project, ABHE institutions will have the opportunity to influence their recruiting success, year-to-year retention rates, and overall graduation rates. The collective use of these services by the Association will also enable the development of ABHE benchmarks, the provision of value-added Web conferences on effective utilization of results, and volume discounts not available through a single institution.
